Sweet Pulao (Rice Cooker One-Step) — 💛 I Just Can’t Even version

What to expect

This will smell like it should have a pretty photo… but remember: this isn’t “correct” food; this is give-yourself-grace food 🙂

What to do

Dump into rice cooker:

  • 2 cups basmati rice (or whichever rice you have on hand)
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 3-4 Tbsp sugar
  • Note: I do 3 Tbsp sugar and it is sweet enough for some, but not sweet enough for all 🙂 so adjust to your taste.
  • 1¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp allspice

Optional (only if you feel like it):

  • ¼ cup raisins
  • ¼ cup cashews

Press Cook → rest 10 minutes → fluff. You know your rice cooker best so press what you must to get it going. I pressed the ‘White Rice’ button on mine.

Top with French’s Crispy Fried Onions.

I see you. You matter. I care. Just keep going. This too shall pass. 💛
